Motorcycle Fleet Is Totally Reasonable When Measured By Total Tonnage, Biker Explains

A motorcyclist is currently in the middle of reassuring his spouse that his motorcycle collection is 100% reasonable – if not a little lackluster – when measured by total tonnage instead of the total number of bikes.

“Number of bikes is such an outdated way of thinking about your motorcycle collection,” said John P. Jones, Captain of a budding and promising motorcycle fleet. “Tonnage is commonly used to measure vehicles, freight, and shipping – all of society's most important things that move. So, why are we not using it for motorcycles, which are THE most important things that move?”

Using this line of thinking means that John’s motorcycle collection has just reached the 1 ton mark – coming in well under a compact sedan.

“My wife wouldn’t blink an eye if I weighed our garage down with 1.5 tons worth of Honda Civic, but bring home a ton of motorcycles and now I have a ‘real problem,’ John said. “I offered to compromise and trade in my one Harley for two other motorcycles that – even when combined – still lower the total tonnage, but she doesn’t seem to understand basic numbers.”
